Terms of Use
Last updated: October 12, 2026
By installing and using SETR, you accept the terms below. If you don't agree with them, don't use the app.
These terms are a translation of the French version, which prevails in the event of any discrepancy.
Health warning — please read
SETR is not a medical device and does not replace a doctor or a certified fitness coach. The programs, weights and suggestions it offers are generated automatically from the data you enter. They take into account neither your health, nor your medical history, nor any injuries.
Strength training carries a risk of injury. Before starting or resuming physical activity, consult a healthcare professional — especially if you have a heart condition, a recent injury, are pregnant, or are over 35 and have been inactive.
You alone are responsible for the weights you lift and the technique you use. Stop immediately if you feel pain. The publisher cannot be held liable for injuries, damage or consequences resulting from the use of the app.
1. Purpose and publisher
The SETR app and this website are published by:
Alexandre Tertrais
Sole proprietor (micro-entreprise)
62 rue des Passementiers, 42100 Saint-Étienne, France
SIREN 983 157 017
Publication director: Alexandre Tertrais
Contact: contact@setr.app
SETR is a mobile app that supports gym strength training. It lets you follow guided workouts, browse a library of documented exercises, create training cycles and track your progress.
2. Account
Using the app requires creating an account with Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In or an email address and password. You are responsible for the security of the device, of your password and of the third-party account you use to sign in.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 16 — or under the age of digital consent in your country — you need your parent's or legal guardian's permission.
An account is personal. You may not share, transfer or resell it.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attempt to access another user's data, or bypass the authentication or data isolation mechanisms;
- bulk-extract, copy or redistribute the exercise library, descriptions, anatomy charts or animations;
- decompile, disassemble or modify the app, except as permitted by law;
- automate requests or put abnormal load on the infrastructure;
- use the app for unlawful purposes.
4. Social network
SETR offers an optional social network. Until you create a social profile, nothing about you is visible to other users. You must be at least 16 to create one.
What others see. Your username, display name, avatar and bio are visible to other signed-in users, along with your follower and following counts. Your profile is private by default: you approve everyone who wants to follow you, and only your followers can see your lists of followers and following. Your workouts are shared only if you choose to, with the text you decide to add: with your followers if your profile is private, with all signed-in members, in the “Everyone” feed, if you make it public; you can hide your weights and remove a shared workout at any time. People who can see a shared workout can give it kudos and comment on it; you can delete your own comments, and those left on your workouts, at any time. Your performance (workouts and volume per week, consistency, heaviest weight per exercise) is part of your social profile: the people who can see your workouts see it too and can compare themselves with you, and you appear in your followers' leaderboards. Your friends also see whether you are training right now, when your last workout ended, with its number of sets and its muscle groups, and whether a workout is planned today. You can exchange private messages, and send your cycles, with your friends — the people you follow and who follow you back; the rules of conduct below apply there too, and any message you receive can be reported. You can also create groups, or join them by invitation: their members see your number of workouts and your volume for the week, to take on a weekly challenge together, and talk in the group's chat. A group's name and the messages in its chat follow the same rules of conduct; a group or a message can be reported, and the group's owner can remove a message. Your profile may be suggested to other members. Finally, you can publish a cycle by link: anyone with that link, even without an account, then sees the cycle along with your name, username and avatar; you can delete the link at any time, and a published cycle can be reported.
Rules of conduct. On your profile and in anything you post, the following are prohibited:
- insults, harassment, threats, and hateful or discriminatory speech;
- sexual, violent or illegal content;
- impersonation and misleading usernames;
- spam, advertising and any commercial solicitation.
Moderation. There is no tolerance for the content and behavior listed above. You can report a profile or a piece of content, and block a user, directly in the app. Every report is reviewed by the publisher — a person, not an algorithm — within 24 hours. An automatic filter also rejects certain terms as you type them. Depending on severity, the publisher may remove content, suspend the social profile or delete the author's account. The person concerned is informed in the app and may ask for the reason, or contest the decision, by writing to contact@setr.app.
To report illegal content without going through the app, write to contact@setr.app with the username concerned and the reason. This address is also the point of contact provided for by the EU Digital Services Act.
Your content. What you post remains yours. You only authorize the publisher to host it and to display it, in the app, to the people entitled to see it, for as long as you leave it online. You can leave the social network at any time from your profile: your profile, your follows, your shared workouts, your kudos, your comments, your private conversations, your group messages, your group memberships and your cycle links are then deleted, without affecting your account or your training history.
5. Content and intellectual property
The app, its interface, its exercise library, descriptions, anatomy charts and animations are protected by copyright and remain the property of the publisher or its licensors. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use the app.
The data you enter — sets, cycles, settings, profile — remains yours. You can get a copy of it or delete it at any time.
6. Subscription
Access to SETR is offered as a subscription. The price, length and renewal date of each plan are shown before any payment, both in the app and on the App Store and Google Play listings.
When taken out from the app, the subscription is sold and billed by Apple or Google, depending on the platform you use, and not directly by the publisher of SETR. It renews automatically for the same length of time unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can cancel at any time from the subscription settings of your Apple or Google account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for, which remains usable until it ends; no prorated refund is due for the period already started.
Refund requests are handled exclusively by Apple or Google, under their own terms: the publisher of SETR has no access to payment methods and cannot issue a refund itself.
When taken out on setr.app, the subscription is sold by the publisher of SETR: the terms of sale then apply in place of Apple's and Google's rules above — price, payment, cancellation, refund and right of withdrawal.
A promo code unlocks free access for the length of time attached to it. It can be used only once per account, has no monetary value and triggers no charge.
7. Availability
The app is provided “as is”. The publisher makes reasonable efforts to keep it available, without guaranteeing continuous, error-free operation. The service may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond the publisher's control.
Some features depend on an internet connection and on third-party services (Supabase, RevenueCat, Stripe, Apple, Google). Their unavailability may affect the app.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the publisher cannot be held liable for indirect damages resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the app, including loss of training data, loss of earnings or non-material damage.
Nothing in these terms excludes the publisher's liability for gross negligence, fraud, or personal injury.
9. Termination
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time from Settings, or through the deletion procedure.
The publisher may suspend or delete an account in the event of a clear breach of these terms, after prior notice except in urgent cases.
10. Changes to these terms
These terms may be changed. Any substantial change will be announced in the app. Continuing to use the app after being notified constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first. Failing that, the French courts have jurisdiction.
In accordance with Articles L.612-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, if a dispute could not be settled after a written complaint sent to contact@setr.app, you may refer it free of charge to the consumer mediator the publisher is registered with:
CM2C — Centre de la Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de Justice
49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris, France
www.cm2c.net — submit a dispute online
litiges@cm2c.net — +33 1 89 47 00 14
The mediation request must be filed within one year of your written complaint.
